Pontrhydyfen welcomed Rhigos to Parc y Ponty on a cold Saturday afternoon. This report is going to be short and sweet as there was very little positive to say for this dire encounter which thankfully Ponty won. The only points scored in the first half came from the boot of the Rhigos winger, single penalty in the middle of the field 30 yards out..
HT score 0-3 to Rhigos
Ponty scored the only try of the game, a neat move from the base of the scrum, when Rhys Curtis picked up and fed evergreen scrumhalf Mark Davies who stepped two defenders to cross the Rhigos tryline, score 5-3 to Ponty. And that's how the game ended.
Not a classic, but it's a good sign that we still win when we play bad.
While the coaches will be happy that we won, the performance was a long way off what we know this group of boys is capably of. A weekend off from league rugby and good rest will hopelfully reguvinate the lads for Tonna game away on the 17th Dec.
